Menceles Trig Point

This is the Menceles trig point (78m) near Chillingham in Northumberland.

The trig sits in the middle of a permissive path surrounded by fields, so you can either come at from a few directions.

The route from the east is shorter, but you could be a nuisance with parking, so best to head from the west. Park across the road from the telephone exchange on the A697 on a grassy verge and head past the exchange and follow the path all the way to the trig point.

You'll find it slightly hidden in a bush and behind a wire fence, but you can still recah out to tap it to secure the bagging.
