March Head Trig Point

This is the March Head trig point (454m) sitting on top of Purdom Pikes in Kielder, Northumberland.

From the parking follow the path NW a short distance and then head SW into the forest. Now you have a decision to make. You can either keep going SW on the path until you get to the bottom of Purdom Pikes and then slog your way through the tussocks to the top.

Or head south for a bit and then west and pick up the new bike path. This will get you a little closer to the March Head trig point before you have to head up through the rough terrain.
