Hopealone Trig Point

This is the Hopealone trig point (316m) sitting on top of Hope Hill on on Henshaw Common.

I think the first thing to say is that this is not a leisurely stroll and we recommend using online maps to find the trig point and then just pick your best path to it based on the current terrain.

For our route we walked from the car past the big aerial and then where the sign is on the track, head into the bracken, through a few ditches while heading for the fire break that is have marked with red arrow.

It is hard going at the start. Once at the top, you can see the pile of earth, turn left through some small trees into another clearing. Turn left for a short distance and then right through some small trees, and there it is. We tried to scope an easier return but couldn't see one, so returned the same way. I can see this one being inaccessible in a few years. Around a 2km walk there from the car.
