Blackdown Trig Point

This is the Blackdown trig point (310m) which is located on the Ray Wind Farm near Kirkwhelpington.

Parking is just off the A696 at the entrance to the wind farm and there is just enough space to get your car off the road without blocking the gates. The whole walk is on the maintenance roads apart from the last little stretch to the trig point.

Please note that the first 600m of the track is not classed as being access land, but there are no signs to say that it's private land or to keep out. Alternatively you can park further south on the A696 and romp across the heather fully on access land.
