Let's get our walking boots on for this one as it's a canny trek to bag Wether Cairn. This hill sits on the east side of Kidland Forest and not only adorns the Wether Cairn trig point, but also has a little cairn on top too. I assume that is where it gets its name from.
As you can see it's a bit boggy up here. To get to the top, park in Alwinton and head north over The Dodd and Puncherton Hill, skirt Kidland Forest and you will arrive at Wether Cairn.
Follow the route above or find it on OS Maps. Around 7km and 442m of climbing.
If you want to bag a few more hills on the Cheviot 99 Challenge then follow this hike to Bloodybush Edge, Hogdon Law and Wether Cairn.

There is a big grassy area in the centre of the village outside the pub. Alternatively follow the road around 100m to a National Park car parking area with loos.
