The Cheviots

The Heart's Toe

Climb up 450m to bag The Heart's Toe in The Cheviots.

The Heart's Toe

The Heart's Toe is a bit of an oxymoron as it's undoubtly the best hill name in the Cheviots, but probably the most dull bagging.

Located between Ogre Hill and Greyhound Law up near Byrness, I found it to be just a small mound with trees and heather growing on it.

But you still need to bag it to complete the Cheviot 99 Challenge, so from the parking, just head north up through the forest and it's right at the top.

Easiest place to park is at the St Francis Of Assisi Church and then it's just a short walk across the road to the foot of the hill.
