Haddon Hill SW Top

Now I love a trig point or cairn marking the top of a hill, but sometimes you get a lovely bonus and there is a hillfort or settlement. That is what I found with Haddon Hill SW Top as it has the Ring Chesters Hillfort perched on its summit.

Just the other side of the trees is Haddon Hill and the three hills in the distance are Longknowe Hill, Longknowe Hill NE Top and Kilham Hill.

There is not a great deal to see of the hillfort from ground level.

But strap your stilts on and you get some amazing views of the hillfort and surrounding area.

From the Hethpool parking, get your walking boots on and head straight up White Hill then west to Haddon Hill. Cut around the trees to the foot of Haddon Hill SE Top where you will a path to the top.
