The Cheviots

Dunmoor Hill

Climb up 569m to bag Dunmoor Hill in The Cheviots.

Dunmoor Hill

If you didn't already know, Dunmoor Hill is where Cunyan Crags are located in Ingram.

There are plenty of ways to ascend Dunmoor Hill, but the easiest and most scenic is probably parking at Hartside and then walking west towards Linhope. Then look for the fingerpost pointing north east before you get to Linhope Village.

Now I usually find a path that takes me straight up to Cat Crag and Long Crag and then work my way along to Cunyan Crags. Then it's a straight climb from there to the top of Dunmoor Hill. But there are plenty of paths that will take you to the summit.

Route map data could not be displayed.

Follow the route above or find it on OS Maps. It's just short of 6km with 350m of climbing, but there are more direct routes.

Lots of little rocky outcrops on top.

If you fancy a bit more an adventure then follow the Dunmoor Hill and Cunyan Crags walk and you will also be treated to a little stone circle.
