Ainsey Knowe is right in the heart of the Breamish Valley, so you'll need to get your walking boots on for bagging this one. There are also nearby hills such as High Cantle and Breamish Head nearby so could be an idea to visit those as part of your jaunt.
Easiest place to park is probably Hartside, near Linhope. Then head towards Alnahmoor before picking up the tarmacked road that then skirts around Shill Moor. At the bottom of Ainsey Knowe there is a little footbridge crossing the River Breamish and then you can either hot foot it straight up to the top, or look left for a little track that skirts Black Cleugh which will take you to the summit.
Canny views over Bloodybush Edge from the top too.
Follow the route above or find it on OS Maps. Around 8.5km and 398m of ascent.
